We have to Talk - Having the Difficult Conversations (OC)

The fear of difficult conversations is often more stressful than the actual conversation. This course places difficult conversations at the core of successful work relationships.  You’ll notice one key theme throughout: you have more ability to have successful conversations than you think. This live virtual session will be delivered as a two-segment session (March 2 & 3, 8:30 am - 12:00 pm each day).

OBJECTIVE:
Think of a conversation you’ve been putting off. You know you should speak to someone, but you don’t. Maybe you’ve tried to have a conversation and it went badly. Or maybe you fear that talking will only make the situation worse. Why are you delaying it? What is causing the hesitation?  In the end you feel stuck, and you’d like to free up the energy used to think about the conversation for more useful purposes.

In a recent Google search, dozens of books on the topic of crucial, fierce, important conversations were found. One common theme emerges from this literature – the fear of difficult conversations is often more stressful than the actual conversation. This course places difficult conversations at the core of successful work relationships.  You’ll notice one key theme throughout: you have more ability to have successful conversations than you think.
