OBJECTIVE:
The course provides a “refresher” overview of tax issues relating to corporate tax payers. It is best suited for participants who work with corporation taxpayers who need to revisit and update their understanding of the corporate tax legislation that may have been forgotten and/or that they may require additional insight as to the application of the legislation.. Participants receive detailed course materials covering a broad range of corporate tax topics, which serve as an invaluable future reference.

WHO WILL BENEFIT:
Practitioners involved in corporate tax matters for private corporations and that desire to expand or refresh their knowledge of corporate tax.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
The course will develop the participant’s ability to:

• evaluate residency of a corporation and its liability for taxes in Canada,
• explain the calculate corporate taxes payable,
• explain various corporate reorganization provisions, and
• assist clients with various tax planning issues including but not limited to, remuneration planning, estate planning, and purchase and sale of business.

PREREQUISITE:
Corporate Tax – Compliance & Planning in T2 Preparation, working experience with the preparation of corporate tax returns and moderate tax planning experience.
