Advanced Variance Analysis and Forecasting (OC)

Participants learn how to combine data, language and visuals for more effective variance analyses. NOTE: This course will run 8:30 am - 11:00 am and 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm. Required pre-reading will be provided in advance. The live portion of the course will be 5 hours in length. To report 7 hours of CPD, participants must complete the required pre-reading and homework and maintain documentation to support that additional learning. OBJECTIVE:
The workshop focuses on showing participants how to tell compelling and succinct stories with variance analysis and forecasting data.  Participants learn how to combine data, language and visuals for more effective variance analysis. Participants also learn the importance of getting to the “so what” and providing succinct explanations with their variance analysis reports and forecasts.

WHO WILL BENEFIT:
Any one accountable for forecasting and/or putting together variance analysis reports. 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Participants will learn how to:

  • present variance analysis and forecasts that highlight key messages and conclusions,
  • write variance analysis commentary that is succinct and highlights the "so what",
  • tailor their analysis for their intended audience,
  • better harness the power of visual communication in forecasts and variance reporting,
  • focus their audience's attention on the most important points, and
  • build persuasive presentations that tell a story.
