Adjusting Leadership Style to the Situation at Hand (OC)

Learn how to expand your range and flexibility as a leader and deploy your skills appropriately for each unique situation. This hands-on, interactive program will help you do a better job for your employees and your company.

OBJECTIVE:
No single leadership style can fit all situations. “To a hammer, every problem looks like a nail” (Abraham Maslow). Don’t just be a hammer. Learn how to expand your range and flexibility as a leader and deploy your skills appropriately for each unique situation. This hands-on, interactive program will help you do a better job for your employees and your company.

Different situations require different leadership approaches. Leaders need to be flexible and adaptive so that they can give employees the direction and support that’s needed, and so that each employee can perform at his or her best and learn and grow to the best of their abilities.

This unique program helps participants understand employee needs and leadership practices in their proper context, namely,

  • the employee’s readiness for the work at hand,
  • what the business situation demands, and
  • what you are best at as a leader.

Giving employees the support and direction, they need is far more than efficient; it is also good for employee engagement, productivity, and development, and helps you earn the trust and respect of your employees.

WHO WILL BENEFIT:
Managers at all levels: anyone who is accountable for employee engagement, performance, and development.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • better adjust their leadership style based on employee and situational needs,
  • offer more efficient, effective, timely, and appropriate supervision and coaching,
  • use a variety of leadership practices to better engage and retain employees, and to better assess and develop employee skills and potential,
  • enhance your ability as a leader to self-adjust, i.e., coach yourself, and
  • speed up the cycle of employee learning on your team.
